I started off with some 'Elvis Fries' while I waited for Travis to arrive. It gave me time to scope out the diner. This 1940's DeRaffele Diner was rescued from demolition and moved nearly 2,000 miles to Wellborn, Texas where it has served delicious east coast diner fair for the last 6 years.
There was a couple from out of town sitting behind us. They had come for the experience as well as the food. I heard the click and saw the flash of several camera shots as they snapped up memories (or remembrances) of their experience.
When Travis arrived, I ordered the Philly Steak sandwich. It came with the normal grilled onions and cheese on an Italian roll. It was delicious. I've had Philly sandwiches before, but this was especially well-blended. There was only one small disappointment. I had hoped to be able to exchange my fries for something else, since I'd already been working on the Elvis Fries as an appetizer, but the friendly waitresses didn't go for it. Oh well. Overall, a good experience in food and nostalgia.

Travis's turn
It is the archetype of a diner. Hullabaloo Diner is a landmark eatery in the College Station area, home of the Fightin’ Texas Aggies. Frequented by mostly college students and locals, this establishment offers typical dinner fare the feeds even the hungriest freshman.
I arrived a little late to the party and found Mike already chowing down on some great looking fries covered in cheese and homemade gravy. After looking at the menu I chose to have breakfast for lunch and ordered the Aggie Special. Little did I know that this dish was no simple Extra-large omelet. This twelve egg monster was filled to capacity with all manner of great fresh veggies, meat, and cheeses. Additionally, it is accompanied by at least 3 potatoes worth of good, old fashioned, Texas sized hash browns and your choice of tortillas, toast, or biscuits. This smorgasbord of perfectly cooked omelet is served in a boat sized dish so you have a chance to soak up all the cheese and trappings.
If you are especially daring and want to try the challenge, all you need to do is eat it all in under 14 min! The prize? A free meal and a classic Hullabaloo t-shirt to change into. The only disappointment was an old menu that needs to be updated.
Food quality was great; atmosphere was classic friendly southern fare. Watch out when you go as parking can be tricky during periods of high traffic. My overall rating: A
